OMEDG 1614: Osteopathic Principles and Practice IV

This course is structured with weekly lectures and laboratory sessions that reinforce material presented in lectures. Material presented expands upon the osteopathic principles taught in the first year, while also introducing new concepts, such as cranial manipulation. Students perform osteopathic structural examinations, diagnoses, and manipulative treatment. Where possible, the sequence of material is coordinated with concepts presented in other second-year courses. In order to familiarize students with nationally standardized licensing exam-style questions (COMAT–OPP/COMLEX–USA), short low-stakes OPP/OMM practice question sets are assigned weekly. Students are evaluated by midterm and final written examinations, as well as practical examinations on core osteopathic treatment techniques.
