PMMS 601: The Application of Precision Medicine to Cancer

This course explores genetic and other molecular mechanisms involved in cancer development and progression, including assessment of genomes, transcriptomes and biomarkers. Students examine how this knowledge translates into cancer screening, diagnosis, and therapeutic choice. Upon successful completion of this course, students will demonstrate an understanding of the genetic origins and development of cancer, diagnostic techniques, and a basic understanding of how knowledge gained from these analyses can be used to benefit patients.
